Located in a 1920’s building in the heart of midtown’s theatre district, this hotel was purchased by Vikram
Chatwal for Hampshire Hotels and Resorts. The mission was to transform this property into “Gothic
Gotham”. The result is a black and white synthesis of old-world style with 21st century custom designs and
enhancements. Guests enter the lobby to find its walls clad in black glass tiles, its floors covered with Gothic
lettered carpet, and a 100-foot-long opaline glass canopy above. It’s a mix of past, present and future that
continues throughout the guest rooms, suites and public spaces.
